Lesotho recorded a shock 2-0 win away to Zimbabwe on Group C of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers on Friday.

The win temporarily took Lesotho, on five points, to first position in the table after three games.

Zimbabwe, who have two points after three games played drop to bottom in the six-team table.

Rethabile Rasehunts opened the scoring for Lesotho in the 21st minute before Jane Thabantso made it 2-0 on 31 minutes.

Later on Friday, Nigeria’s Super Eagles will entertain Bafana Bafana of South Africa in Uyo.

On Thursday, Benin Republic recorded their first win in the qualifiers after a hard-fought 1-0 victory against Rwanda.
