Akwa United FC have acquired the services of Alberico Barbosa Da Silva ahead of the start of 2018/2019 Nigeria Professional Football League season.

The Brazilian striker arrived Uyo on Monday morning after agreeing on terms with the Promise Keepers and has since joined the rest of the squad in training.

The former FC Ifeanyi Ubah and Abia Warriors was known for his direct attacking style of play and tricky dribble runs which makes him a nightmare to all opponents during his stints in Nigeria.

Da Silva made his debut in Nigeria’s domestic topflight with FC Ifeanyi Ubah in the 2015/2016 season, becoming the first Brazilian to score in the league, alongside five other players from the South Americans.
