Court Orders Sale Of Essien’s Two Houses In Accra

A court in Ghana has ordered that two houses belonging to former Black Stars midfielder Michael Essien should be put up for sale.

According to Daily Guide Network, the two houses are located at East Legon and Trassaco in Accra, Ghana.

The sale of the properties was ordered by the Deputy Sheriff, High Court (Commercial Division), on June 12, 2024.

According to the auctioneer, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, one of the properties ranges between $20m and $30m.

It is gathered that despite Essien’s lucrative football career, he has faced challenges in his business and investments after retiring from professional football.

Africa Soccer reported that Essien’s current financial troubles are due to large loans he took from different banks and financial institutions in Ghana.
