Legendary England striker Alan Shearer has showered encomium on Ademola Lookman for his hat-trick heroics in the Europa League final on Wednesday.

Lookman netted all three goals as Atalanta thrashed Bayer Leverkusen 3-0 in the final played in Dublin.

The Super Eagles forward bagged a brace in the first half before completing his hat-trick in the second half.

Commenting after the game Shearer wrote on his X handle:”Atalanta brilliant again tonight. Lookman wow, what a hat-trick .”

Lookman’s hat-trick helped Atalanta to a first-ever European title and a first major trophy since 1963 when they won the Coppa Italia.

Atalanta had lost 1-0 to Juventus in the Coppa Italia final heading into Wednesday’s game.
