Super Eagles striker, Sadiq Umar was missing in action as Atletico Madrid defeated Real Sociedad 2-0 in Saturday’s La Liga game.

The Nigeria international, who has made 26 appearances, has netted three goals and bagged one assist this season for Real Sociedad.

Sadiq is currently nursing an injury.

Atletico Madrid netted the opening goal in the ninth minute through Lino to silence the home supporters before Mandava extended their lead in the 93rd minute.

All efforts by Real Sociedad to reduce the scoreline proved abortive, as Atletico secured the three points.

The victory means Real Sociedad sits 6th with 60 points, while Atletico Madrid sit 4th with 76 points.
