Portugal Secures Dramatic 2-1 Win Vs Czech

Substitute Francisco Conceicao was the hero as his stoppage time goal sealed a 2-1 win for Portugal against Czech Republic in Group F of the 2024 European Championship on Tuesday.

Francisco Conceicao scored a 92nd minute winner as Portugal were forced to come from behind to beat the Czech Republic.

The Czechs had stunned one of the pre-tournament favourites through Lukas Provod’s stunning strike to make it 1-0 on 62 minutes.

But Robin Hranac’s own goal in the 69th minute helped Portugal draw level as he knocked his goalkeeper’s initial save into his own net.

Then in the 92nd minute Conceicao struck just seconds after being introduced from the bench.

In the group’s other game Turkey defeated Georgia to also get their campaign off to a perfect start.

The Turks lead the group while Portugal occupy second place.
